Hackathon 2014

The hackathon will take place during the 7th INCF Congress of Neuroinformatics on August 25-27, in Leiden, Netherlands. Everyone registered for the main meeting is welcome to attend. We hope to have developers from projects such as NIDASH, NeuroStars and others taking part.

INCF has been organizing and sponsoring hackathons since 2011; the first INCF hackathon was a one-day event held at MIT on September 8, 2011.

Goals & Ideas

Most open source neuroinformatics projects are coordinated remotely, with users from all over the world contributing and organizing themselves through mailing lists and chats. The objective of the hackathon is to give these talented developers a chance to be fully focused on the projects for a few days, and to interact in real time.

The goals for the two days are determined entirely by attendees. Please check the recent OHBM hackathon ideas page for inspiration, and add your project ideas to the shared etherpad document. We'll use this brainstorming discussion document to prepare directions for the two days of work.

It should be noted that this room is meant to be a hands on work zone. Talks will be given between 60 seconds and 2 minutes, so please, prepare accordingly.

Attendee registration

Attendance is free for congress participants. Please add yourself if you are interested to the shared etherpad document. We'll coordinate through the INCF hackers mailing list, so please sign up to receive updates and preferably prefix your email subject with [Hackathon 2014].
